Mission Statement

AYA is committed to providing educational and networking opportunities for anyone interested in astrology, with a focus on outreach to young people discovering astrology. We believe that bringing youth into astrology is vital and necessary.  Our group stands in full support of young astrologers and offers a community where they can learn and be inspired.

Many of AYA's programs seek to bridge the old with the new by encouraging all astrologers to adopt new means of interaction including online social networks, forums, wikis, blogs, chats, etc. Though we are focused on the future generations of astrologers, we bid welcome to and call for those who are young in spirit and want change. We accept, gladly, those who want to preserve our heritage by encouraging the younger generations to become involved.

Services

In line with our goal of providing networking and educational opportunities, AYA provides additional services with the purpose of helping to integrate younger and newer astrologers into the wider astrological community. Our programs bring astrologers together both online and offline.

Part of this involves providing unique opportunities for our members to attend astrological conferences and workshops by getting discounted rates, providing scholarships, and setting up room shares at conferences. Conferences are often held in expensive hotels, and the majority of conference attendees are often well-established professional astrologers.  It can be difficult for new-comers to attend, and historically there has been a noticable lack of young astrologers at conferences.

AYA wants to change that.  As many of our younger members are on the lower end of the income bracket, providing these more affordable networking and educational opportunities is one of our key goals in order to help foster the integration of the younger generations of astrologers into the established astrological circles.
