The United Astrology Conference (UAC) is a collaboration among the major astrological organizations that brings members from many different organizations together.  UAC 2008 will be hosted in Denver, CO, will have 15 simultaneous tracks running from May 15-20, and may turn out to be the largest astrological conference to date.  According to Ray Merriman, one of the conference organizers:

[UAC 2008] will be very successful as far as numbers go. It will probably be the largest astrological gathering in over 30 years. It "feels" like it will be very successful in terms of excitement and energy too!

Apply for a Scholarship, Get a Free AFAN Membership

AYA is collecting donations with the goal of providing 5 full scholarships to AYA members who are dedicated students of astrology and express financial need.  Any additional funds received over the target amount will be offered as partial scholarhips.  The Association for Astrological Networking (AFAN) has generously offered free memberships to the scholarship recipients. At the same time, we are working with the organizers of UAC to find volunteer positions to work in exchange for reduced or free admission.  If you are interested in either a scholarship or volunteer position, apply here!

Reserve a Room Spot

Normal rates for a room at UAC would be in the ballpark of $900 for the full week. In our room share arrangement, each person will pay only $250 for the week, and share a room with other AYA members. Besides reducing the cost, sharing a room is a great way to get to know other astrologers and get the most from your conference experience.

We have already reserved two large rooms for this purpose. One room is a normal size suite with 2 queen beds that should comfortably fit 5 people or so. The other room is a very large deluxe suite with 2 queen beds and a huge parlor area in a separate room. It should comfortably fit 10 people or so.  You can view a 360 degree panorama of the deluxe suite on the Adam's Mark website (it seems the panorama was removed from the website for some reason, but other images are available).  We hope to fill the rooms with a total of about 15 people in order to cover costs.

Sleeping options include the available beds and couches, and additional air mattresses will be supplied.  If you do not require a bed, we ask that you consider using one of the air mattresses so that others who require a bed can have access to one.  Couples are welcome to share a bed, or if you are uncomfortable sharing a bed, you might choose to sleep on the couch or an air matress instead.  You should make your room payment as early as possible since spots are limited. The rooms are reserved from May 14 (check-in) to May 21 (check-out). There will also be at least 1 social event held in the parlor during movie night.
